I saw them being fitted in student areas in the university where I worked and I wonder what the liability would be in the event of iPhone destruction ...

I can't understand why you went back at all. She has a reputation for not coughing up (pun intended) and as you say the (now) faulty socket was not supplied by you. I would be using excuses such as "we are over that way in a few weeks and we'll call in", "I am on a big job the moment and can't find time", etc.

Had a similar story a couple of years ago, the client wanted the outside of the house to be bathed in purple lights like a hotel?? (Yeah i know🤔) She obtained them off a budget shopping platform and I fitted them…..2 months later “You need to replace the lights you fitted!” I reminded her that she sourced the holiday inn lights and she still hadn’t settled the invoice. “Im going to tell spotlight (local tv news etc) of your bad service! She warned🙄 I welcomed the exposure of being a small business being proven above board and treating customers with respect and patience in the presence of questionable if I dare say it theft. The invoice was paid forthwith 👍😊 Guess I’ll get another but that’s what being in business is😊

Totally brilliant! Thanks David! Yhese type of free-loaders are just scum. I fitted a bunch of smokes/heats in a very posh house, sent in my bill, as agreed in advance , and after 2 reminders it still wasn't paid 6 weeks later. I was out of pocket for all the units plus my labour, so a significant amount. I turned up unannounced and said I was there to do the after-sales check that all was working ok, and not mentionng the outstanding bill, the guy let me in...I removed all the units, leaving the bases, popped them in my rucksack, and left the premises...never heard from him again.

I think that speaking about your customers like this does your reputation no good. Perhaps, though, you are not concerned with your reputation. Whether they are good, bad or downright awful I don't think that much good comes from this sort of commentary. It is entertaining though and if that is what you set out to do then it is hilarious. In often wonder why / how clients / Landlords work out because you visited them within the last ten years and have not performed maintenance works to there electrical systems they assume and fault that occurs is always related to the last works we carried out. Then expect you to do the call for free as we were clearly at fault? Despite having to explain the fault was nothing to do with our previous visit and clearing the fault issuing a minor works and recommendation for remedial works with invoice tendered of a low 3 figured sum.it still took almost taking them to court to obtain payment. I was amused to see from your example these tight wad amateurs still exist and others you encounter causing such hassle. Thanks for bringing up this issue has often been a pain in the arse for me. Hi David radio teleswitches work off radio 4 Longwave transmissions for e gland transmitted from Droitwhich at 500Kw power in Scotland there are 2 transmitters of 50 Kw each at Burghead and Westerleigh you are right those transmitters will be switched off next year
